In Luke, while the Savior is in the Garden it says that He was in agony (pain) and he sweat as it were great drops of blood.
Additional Insights about the Savior's Suffering in Gethsemane
The agony in which the Savior suffered was more than humanly possible to endure.
It seems that the Father withdrew His Presence from the Savior.
When the Savior exclaimed "It is finished" (John 19:28) the atoning sacrifice was accepted by the Father.
The Savior suffered the consequences of our sins.
"The suffering of the Son of God was not simply the suffering of personal death; for in assuming the position that He did in making an atonement for the sins of the world He bore the weight, the responsibility, and the burden of the sins of all men, which, to us, in incomprehensible..."
